FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 2, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Carol Christian, Brandy Carol Daniels and Dianne Burns Mackey have been appointed to the Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education.- Carol Christian, of Lexington, is the director of Morehead State University's Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Math. Dr. Christian will represent postsecondary education institutions. She shall serve for a term expiring December 15, 2019.
- Brandy Carol Daniels, of Somerset, is a member of the Pulaski County Board of Education. Daniels will represent local board of education members. She shall serve for a term expiring December 15, 2019.
- Dianne Burns Mackey, of Utica, is self-employed. Mackey will represent the private business sector. She shall serve for a term expiring December 15, 2019.
The Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education is composed of 19 members appointed by the governor. The council makes recommendations regarding the provisions and services for gifted and talented students in Kentucky’s education system.
Amanda Holmes Rowland has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners.- Amanda Holmes Rowland, of Danville, is a veterinarian. Dr. Rowland shall serve for a term expiring September 28, 2020.
The Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners consists of eight members, all appointed by the governor. The board’s purpose is to regulate and control the licensing and conduct of veterinarians within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
