FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2017) — The Department for Local Government (DLG) has named Greg Ladd as the new executive director of Legal Services and general counsel to the department.

Prior to joining DLG, Ladd served as a staff attorney with the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet and as state safety program director. He currently lives in Lexington with his wife, Kelsey, who is a medical resident at UK’s Chandler Hospital. They have a three-year-old-son.

“I could not be more pleased that Greg Ladd has joined DLG to lead our legal team in this new role. In addition to his broad transactional and regulatory legal experience, Greg brings with him more than enough charisma and energy to help shape and improve our department to better serve the commonwealth,” said DLG Commissioner Sandra Dunahoo.

“I am very thankful to Commissioner Dunahoo and the DLG staff for this opportunity to serve as General Counsel at a very important time for state government,” said Greg Ladd. “I look forward to advising the Commissioner and the agency in our effort to continually serve the Commonwealth.”

DLG, under the Office of the Governor, provides financial help in the way of grant and loan assistance, as well as advising local government in matters of budget, personnel and other issues relevant to those entities.
