FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 22, 2018) – The Department for Local Government (DLG) has announced an Area Development Fund (ADF) grant of $13,888.85 to Clark County Fiscal Court.

The grant will allow the county to repair and resurface two basketball courts. The project includes resurfacing, restriping, backboard repairs and lighting repairs.

“These basketball courts are long overdue for repair, especially since they are the site of a Labor Day tournament and other sporting events at Harmon Park, in addition to being popular among local residents for everyday use,” DLG Commissioner Sandra K. Dunahoo said. “I’m pleased to invest in this project.”

“I’m thrilled to see these resources directed toward the improvement of Harmon Park,” Sen. Ralph Alvarado said. “It is my hope that these repairs will encourage young people to be active and live a healthy lifestyle.”

The ADF Grant program was established by the 1976 Kentucky General Assembly to fund projects that contribute to community or industrial development. The funds are administered by DLG, an arm of the Office of the Governor dedicated to supporting local officials and communities. For more information, visit dlg.ky.gov.
