DLG, Gov. Bevin Welcome Newly Elected Officials

FRANKFORT, Ky. (November 27, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin and Department for Local Government Commissioner Sandra K. Dunahoo welcomed about 100 newly elected mayors and judge-executives to their positions on Monday during a workshop and welcome event in Frankfort.

The day consisted of sessions with cabinet members at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, followed by a welcome event at the Governor’s Mansion.

“As local government officials, these individuals are the closest to the people and have an opportunity to make a world of difference in the lives of their constituents,” Commissioner Dunahoo said. “This event was an opportunity to congratulate them personally on their election and introduce them to some of the folks in Frankfort they’ll likely work with throughout their terms. Our goal was to make Frankfort accessible.”
