FRANKFORT, Ky. (December 11, 2018) – The Department for Local Government (DLG) has announced an Area Development Fund (ADF) grant of $8,500 to the City of Hodgenville.
The grant will allow the city to construct an outdoor pickleball court. Pickleball is a growing recreational activity primarily for adults, but is also suitable for younger players. The game combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.
“This public court will make this activity more accessible for both residents and visitors of Hodgenville and LaRue County,” DLG Commissioner Sandra K. Dunahoo said. “I’m pleased to support a project that promotes exercise and outdoor recreation.”
“There are few recreational facilities in LaRue County that primarily serve adults,” Sen. Stephen Meredith. “This new court will be a great addition to the community.”
The ADF Grant program was established by the 1976 Kentucky General Assembly to fund projects that contribute to community or industrial development. The funds are administered by DLG, an arm of the Office of the Governor dedicated to supporting local officials and communities. For more information, visit
