DLG requires individuals administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to be officially certified by DLG as CDBG Administrators. There was a very successful class held last June in Frankfort with about twenty-three (23) students. Planning for the class this year is starting. The first step is to determine if there are a sufficient number of interested persons to make the effort worthwhile. At least 12 or 15 students are necessary. The training is open to anyone that has the intention to work with the CDBG program. There is no charge for the training. The class is three (3) days in length with a test on day four (4). The training is provided by ICF International, a consulting firm contracted by DLG. Attendees will receive an updated copy of the CDBG Handbook. If a sufficient number of persons are interested in a class, it will be held in the fall.
If you or someone you know is interested in the class, please notify Jessica Razor at
Jessica.Razor@ky.gov by
June 1, 2016. Call her with any questions at 502.573.2382, extension 272. A registration form will be sent when the decision is made to host a class along with a date and location.
Those former administrators given a waiver from the last
re-certification class must attend this class or lose certification. Please inform Jessica of your plans.
