FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2016) - The Department for Local Government (DLG) approved funding for a $220,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women. The Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women adheres to the Recovery Kentucky Guidelines of providing hope to the homeless and those in fear of homelessness that are suffering from alcohol or drug addiction, by using a program that integrates a peer-to-peer, self-help model.

“Liberty Place Recovery Center is working hard every day to intervene in the lives of those women who are homeless or addicted to drugs,” said Gov. Bevin. “This funding will financially assist those who help people live more stable and productive lives. We need all hands on deck to fight our growing drug epidemic, because failure is not an option.”

Applications for CDBG funds are also submitted to DLG. To learn more, visit https://kydlgweb.ky.gov/FederalGrants/CDBG_cities.cfm.

The CDBG program provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and/or improving community facilities and services.
