LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 23, 2018) – The Department for Local Government is excited to announce another successful Governor’s Local Issues Conference.

The 43rd annual event wrapped up Thursday, Aug. 16, after three days of workshops led by expert presenters. Over 800 attendees from both the private and public sectors participated in this year’s conference.

Through the use of Facebook Live, this year’s conference was also more accessible and transparent than ever. Thousands of Kentuckians viewed the live streams of the opening session with members of the executive cabinet and Gov. Matt Bevin’s remarks during the Governor’s Luncheon.

The conference is organized and funded by the non-profit organization Kentucky Local Issues Conference, Inc., with support from the Department for Local Government (DLG) and the Office of the Governor.

DLG is an arm of the Office of the Governor dedicated to supporting local officials and communities. For more information, visit dlg.ky.gov.
