Frankfort, KY (June 6, 2018) – The Department for Local Government (DLG) is now accepting nominations for the Spirit of Kentucky Award, which is presented annually to the sponsors of a public project that demonstrates multi-jurisdictional cooperation and effective use of resources.
“Every year, the Department for Local Government reviews plans for hundreds of public projects seeking to build a stronger Kentucky,” DLG Commissioner Sandra K. Dunahoo said. “This award honors the best of the best, those that show what’s possible when stakeholders work together for the success of our communities.”
Eligible projects include those of any government, public service, private non-profit organization or quasi-governmental sponsor or participant.
Nominations must be submitted via the

- Successful regional impact during the most recent 12-month period
- Efficient use of public resources and funding sources
- Innovative or resourceful cooperation of two or more jurisdictions of government or authority
